GOLDIE Metzger was born in April of 2003. She died on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Goldie was a Labradoodle. She was the daughter of Edna and Harvey Rosenkranz of San Antonio, Texas, part of a litter of 6. She came to Sacramento by jet airplane to join the Reiner-Metzger family. Goldie was adopted by them and completed their family. Early on, Goldie had endless puppy energy. She liked destroying furniture and household walls. She developed a fondness for chasing balls and squirrels, and for catching tennis balls and Frisbees. She loved playing with her brothers in the backyard, often grabbing and eating their ping pong balls during a game. When she barked, you could hear the southern twang in her voice. Though she never registered with a political party, Goldie was clearly not a Trump supporter. When newspapers with his picture were placed on the floor, she urinated on them. Goldie also tore up magazines that had Mr. Trump's picture on the cover. When he appeared on television, Goldie would growl and bark at the tv screen. Goldie enjoyed bluegrass, Shabbat dinners (she always waited for Challah), red wine, moon lit nights and her friend Cisco, who lived with the family across the street until he pre-deceased her. Goldie was kind and gentle. She was loved by family and friends alike. She smiled at everyone and never met anyone she wouldn't lick. Goldie never owned a gun and she never bit anyone. Goldie Metzger left us at age 14 1/2 (in human years), after her body kept failing her repeatedly. She requested cremation and a private service for family and friends. Her cremains will be spread in the back yard she loved to play in. Goldie will be forever missed by her parents, Debbie and Eliot, and her brothers, Michael and Noah. May her memory be for a blessing. In her honor, contribute to the local SPCA and treat all those around you with love and affection, humans and dogs alike.
